Lathom High School exceeded its target with 47% 5+A*-C inc. English & Mathematics in this year’s GCSEs and matched its highest ever result with 64% 5+A*-C for all subjects. Headteacher, Tim Farr, said “We are all delighted. This is down to the incredible hard work by students, parents and staff. We are all very proud of our students’ achievements. Our Year 11 was a fantastic group of students and they deserve all the success possible. We wish them all the best in the future."
Seven students; Sian Butler, Rachael Evans, Samantha Fairhurst, Beth Jones, Jessica Lyon, Jamie Machell and Sarah Mercer achieved 8 A*s or As in all their subjects, with Jamie Machell gaining 11As and 1 A*.
These results are this year’s icing on the cake for Lathom with the school also having gone through a successful Ofsted inspection and redesignating as a Specialist Technology College. This is all down to the amazing support Lathom High School gets from everyone in Skelmersdale.
